A Gift for the Darkness
Blog Entry #8
I feel the person responsible for Simon’s death is Jack. I think that Jack is responsible for Simon’s death because he is part of the dark side in this book. He always wanted to go hunting, and kill things. He did not care about the little ones in the book at all. All that mattered to him was himself and if he was able to kill a pig. Such as in Chapter seven. All the boys were playing a game pretending Roger was a pig. All of the hunters circled around him yelling, “Kill the pig, cut his throat, and bash him in!” They then were poking Roger with the non-sharp end of their spheres. Once they were done with that Jack then said,”Why don’t we have a little one play the pig?” This meant that Jack wanted to sacrifice a little one, and that e does not care about anyone but himself.
